Linguagen Adds Bernd Nilius to Scientific Advisory Board
Biology and Biochemistry Expert to Help Further Taste Technology Research
Cranbury, N.J., June 1, 2005 - Linguagen Corp. (www.linguagen.com), a leader in the identification and development of new compounds to improve the taste of pharmaceutical, food and beverage products, announces the addition of Bernd Nilius, M.D., Ph.D., to its scientific advisory board (SAB). Dr. Nilius joins four prominent scientists and industry leaders in the field of taste transduction and technology who also serve on the board, including Robert Margolskee, M.D., Ph.D.; David Floyd, Ph.D.; Sue Kinnamon, Ph.D.; and Stephen Roper, Ph.D.

Dr. Nilius is a Full Professor of Physiology in the Department of Physiology, Gasthuisberg Campus, Leuven, Belgium. Prior to this position, he was the Leader of the Max Planck Research Group for Molecular Cell Physiology connected to the Max Planck Institute of Biophysical Chemistry in Göttingen, Germany. He has had 318 papers published in peer reviewed international journals and has been invited to lecture at more than 90 international meetings, including the International Society of Biophysics and Applied Physics; European Society of Human Genetics; American Heart Association; and American Physiological Society, Gordon Conferences. He is an editorial board member of several international journals, including The Journal of Physiology (London), The American Journal of Physiology, Cell Calcium, The Journal of Physiology and Cellular Physiology and Biochemistry, and will be the Editor in Chief of The European Journal of Physiology Pflügers Archive commencing in November 2005. He is a member of several international scientific societies, Academia Europea; the Royal Academy of Medical Sciences Belgium; The Physiological Society U.K.; The Society of General Physiologists (USA) and the American Physiological Society. He received his M.D. and Ph.D. in Mathematics and Physiology from Martin Luther University, Halle-Wittenberg, in Halle/Saale, Germany.
